The Best Red Wing Golf Courses

There are plenty of things to do in Red Wing to celebrate your upcoming nuptials. Whether you’re seeking a pampered spa day with your bridesmaids or a fun adventure with your groomsmen, we’d love to share the best of our river town. If you’re looking for a fun activity with your wedding party, consider teeing up at one of these three Red Wing golf courses.

There are three Red Wing golf courses near our venue that make for an excellent day outing, and even more in the surrounding area if you want to plan a weekend of golf. Below, we’ll highlight the three best and closest Red Wing golf courses.

Mississippi National Golf Links

Our favorite of the Red Wing golf courses, which also happens to be the closest greens to us, is Mississippi National Golf Links. Mississippi National consists of two different courses. Their lowland course is the more traditional golf course with rolling hills and large greens. It’s a championship-level course and, as such, has held many tournaments over the years.

If you want a scenic afternoon on the greens, head to the Highland course. It’s a more visually challenging 18-hole course, but the sweeping views of the Mississippi River and its surrounding bluffs make the challenge more than worth your time. Though Mississippi National Golf Links does offer membership, the course is open to the public and has corresponding public tee-off times.

Mount Frontenac Golf Course

The Mount Frontenac Golf Course is another popular choice among Red Wing golf courses. This gem isn’t very far from our Bed and Breakfast in Minnesota, either, and offers a truly breathtaking place to play a round or two of golf. Like Mississippi National, Mount Frontenac Golf Course overlooks the Mississippi River bluffs and Lake Pepin.

This Red Wing golf course offers a single 18-hole, 71-par course designed by Gordon Emerson. It’s also open to the public. In addition to the 18-hole course, Mount Frontenac Golf Course offers a chipping area, putting green, practice bunker, driving range, rentals, and more.

Red Wing Golf Course

The final golf course we recommend is the Red Wing Golf Course, rated as Minnesota’s #3 golf course. It’s also open to the public and features majestic oak and pine trees, rolling hills and elevation changes, rugged sandstone bluffs, and all the beautiful scenery you’d expect from Red Wing golf courses.

The course itself offers 18 holes of challenging terrain, designed in a way to reward accuracy and positioning over strength. It’s unique among Red Wing golf courses and provides a fun and exciting afternoon to spend with your best friends and family.
